What is a real racist anyway?
I am more than a little fed up with the baseless accusations of racism from the NAALCP (National Association for the Advancement of Liberal Colored People) in this country. The funeral last week of Coretta Scott King provided an opportunity for the most blatant display of true racism that I have ever seen. After the President was gracious enough to attend the memorial service to join others in paying tribute to Mrs. King, he was blindsided by the typical rhetoric from the Reverend Dr. Joseph Lowery. As liberal black preachers are prone to do, Lowery used fancy alliteration to make his point:
"She extended Martin's message against poverty, racism and war. She deplored the terror inflicted by our smart bombs on missions way afar. We know now that there were no weapons of mass destruction over there. But Coretta knew, and we know that there are weapons of misdirection right down here. For war, billions more, but no more for the poor!"
I have to interject one question here. What the hell do smart bombs, weapons of mass destruction, and "Our Terror" have to do with memorializing Mrs. King? The answer? Nothing. But it was an opportunity too good to pass up for the self-centered preacher. And I'm sure that the 2-minute standing ovation from the ignorant made it all worth it. The message was clear, "Mr. President, you are concerned about everything in your administration EXCEPT taking care of black people in America." The implication? "You Mr. President, are a racist!"
The last time I checked, the word "prejudice" means: "An adverse judgment or opinion formed beforehand or without knowledge or examination of the facts. Another definition is: "Irrational "suspicion" or hatred of a particular group, race, or religion." The fact is, as far as the honorable Reverend Dr. Lowery and his ilk are concerned, no matter what is done for black people, it will never be enough to remove the label of racist they have so dutifully bestowed upon white America.
